Anxiety and High Blood Pressure
In this modern world stress or anxiety is accepted as a part of life. A person is always anxious that he should be able to do his best if he wants to survive in this competitive world. Due to this anxiety he is lost so much in his work that he totally ignores the other important aspects in his life. What is that important aspect? It is his health. He totally ignores it so it is believed that anxiety can cause high blood pressure. What causes anxiety? Anxiety can be caused by any factor or reason that makes you feel frustrated or angry.
It is feeling of uncertainty and fear which develops due to the insecurities that is caused by the ever increasing competition and the lack of concern and understanding in this modern corporate world. That does not mean that every person will face anxiety at the same rate. One situation may be the cause of anxiety for one person and the same situation may not have any effect on another person. How does Anxiety cause High Blood Pressure?
Anxiety is directly related to emotion. So any kind of strong adverse emotion like fear, anger, frustration or depression will always have adverse effect on the body. How is that related to high blood pressure? It is a fact that these types of emotions have direct relation with the heart. The brain sends the signal to the heart about the adverse situation and the heart starts pumping more blood into the system which increases the level of blood pressure. Moreover due to anxiety people start adopting habits which they feel will decrease their anxiety level but these habits are only a camouflage.
Instead of decreasing the anxiety these habits harm the body system. It raises the blood pressure which in due course gives rise to problems like heart attack, kidney failure and stroke. In extreme cases it may lead to blindness also. What are these bad habits which develop due to anxiety? The common habits that develop as anxiety relievers are smoking, drinking, over eating and sometimes to release anxiety people start taking drugs.
How can Anxiety be reduced?
Mostly anxiety is a psychological problem so a person can reduce his own anxiety level by coolly analyzing the factors that are the cause of his anxiety. He should first think about the things which are the causes of his worry that is the matter which is constantly nagging on his mind and not allowing him to get peace. What is the solution by which anxiety can be reduced? The best way out is to share the problem with someone in whom you have faith. Give rest to the body and mind by eating a healthy diet and doing regular exercise which will reduce the level of stress.
