High Diastolic Blood Pressure
Have you visited the doctor for any treatment? Yes, then you are aware that the doctor first listens to your problem and then takes out his instrument which is a box like thing containing a rubber cuff which is attached with a tube to the measuring unit in the box. The doctor wraps the cuff above your elbow on the muscle of your hand and measures your blood pressure to ensure that it is normal. How does he know that it is normal or not? The normal blood pressure count is already given which is 120/80 and if the count goes higher than that it is known as high blood pressure.
What is counted by that machine? The systolic and the diastolic number of heart beat are counted. What are the systolic and the diastolic heartbeat? When the heart pumps blood throughout the body it is considered to be working that is called systolic pressure and when the heart receives the blood and is in a contracted stage it is called diastolic pressure. The upper count that is 120 is systolic pressure and the lower count 80 is diastolic pressure. If any of the pressure is higher than the normal count it is known as high blood pressure.

This can be done by using the prescribed medicines and bringing a change in the existing lifestyle. What changes should be made which will bring the blood pressure to normal and keep it under control. First of all the eating habit has to be changed and the consumption of sodium intake should be reduced. More fruits and vegetables and whole grain cereals and pulses should be included in the diet. If you have the habit of smoking it should be totally given up and light exercises should be included in the daily routine.
