You might be thinking that when you don’t have any problem why should you waste your time by visiting the doctor? Here you are highly mistaken.
Do you know there are many kinds of problems which may occur in the body and there will be no symptoms? When you will feel the symptoms and go for a check up it will be too late. No, do not gape with an open mouth. That is the truth which most of us tend to avoid. What is that problem? It is the problem of hypertension or high blood pressure which does not show any symptoms in the beginning but goes on increasing day by day and the final symptom comes out in the form of kidney failure or heart attack or stroke. So hypertension is known as a silent killer.
What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the number of beats a heart takes while pumping the blood to the whole through the arteries and the beats when it is at rest between the act of pumping blood and receiving blood. The pressure which is measured when the heart is busy at work is known as the systolic pressure and the pressure measured when the heart takes rest in between the beats is known as diastolic pressure.
Systolic Blood Pressure
While measuring the blood pressure the upper count is known as systolic which should be 120 and the lower count should be 80 which is the diastolic pressure. This 120/80 pressure level is called the normal level and any point above that is called high blood pressure. The systolic pressure is important as it measures the pressure when the heart is working. So if the systolic pressure is high it is an indication of danger as there is something wrong in the body which is affecting the heart.
What are the harmful effects of High Systolic Blood Pressure?
It has been observed that high systolic blood pressure often develops in aged people. It does not show any symptom and goes undetected. If it is not treated properly and timely action is not taken to control it then you may suffer the final onslaught that is either heart attack or stroke or kidney failure. It can even cause blindness and heart failure. Once you develop systolic blood pressure medical science only provides medicine to control it but there is no permanent cure available. This does not mean that everything is lost. Many herbal medicines have been discovered which provides total cure without any harmful side effects.
