History of high blood pressure

The history of high blood pressure actually refers to that of your family history which accounts for the existence of high pressure in your ancestors or close relatives. If your grandfather used to have high blood pressure, then this shows that you have "positive family history" for this particular disease.

Now family history can be of two specific types. First one is the “Common family history” and “Immediate family history”. The general history shows whether any of the close or distant relatives like the cousins, uncles and aunts or grandparents have high blood pressure or not.

The immediate history of high blood pressure is all about the parents and siblings. If anyone of them has complained of high blood pressure then chances are there that you can get affected by the same disease.

Are you scared of the family history of high blood pressure?

There are many people who are quite scared of their family history of high blood pressure. But there are few things in your life which you need to accept as you do not have any control over them. Now if you have a positive history of some other disease this does not mean that it will give rise to high blood pressure.

Moreover if you take a look at the family history of any individual then you will get to see that almost everybody has a positive family history some diseases or the others.
