Types of high blood pressure

Essential Hypertension

This is a particular type of hypertension which has no specific reason as such. It suddenly occurs and results in severe high blood pressure. This is basically due to heredity of the genes that is there in your family. If you can get some information about the family history of high blood pressure then this is sure that you will find the traces of high blood pressure among the relatives.

Secondary hypertension

This is a type of hypertension which has a particular and significantly reversible cause related to this. Around 5% people among the total number of patients of high blood pressure suffer from this type of hypertension. This can take a severe turn but if treated at the early stage and save you from various other diseases.

Generally it is observed that from the high blood pressure caused by secondary hypertension quite a number of diseases can initiate. Kidney problems, diseases related to blood vessels, thyroid and adrenal trouble, sleep apnea, parathyroid problems, pregnancy can also take place from this particular type of high blood pressure.

Isolated systolic high blood pressure

This is a specific type of hypertension which generally occurs in the senior citizens. When the systolic blood pressure goes above 140 wherein the diastolic blood pressure remains less then 90 this is referred to as isolated systolic high blood pressure. This can damage the internal organs.

Blood pressure caused by White Coat Hypertension

This is a peculiar type of hypertension. The blood pressure often rises whenever the patient gets to see the doctor. You can not call this serious at all as this is just a temporary state which often happens to the children before their exams.

Now all these high blood pressure troubles have become prevailing now-a-days because of various lifestyle disorders which initiates severe stress. There are many people who are tired of handling the excessive work load at the office and some of them are exhausted of travelling related to their profession.

Often they do not take their food at the right time and spend the weekdays under pressure and even during the weekends burden themselves with extra activities which make them even more tired. Most of the people do not get a proper sleep in the night as they do night shifts or work 15 to 19 hours a day. This is the root of hypertension and high blood pressure.
